Everybody’s been talking about the new chicken at KFC, the chililime chicken. So, it’s just inevitable that I go try it out. After all, KFC is one of my favorite fastfood restaurants (hooray for unhealthy eating).
It doesn’t really look like anything special. Just a chicken that’s friend hot and crispy. However, on closer look, one would notice the powdered chili and lime on the skin. The first few bites already told me that it’s just a hot and crispy chicken with powdered chili and lime (or dalandan, if you want) on it, nothing more. The lime actually cuts through the spice of the chili. However, I don’t think the gravy and the lime really go together. The flavors would do great on a crispy potato chip, though. But I like my fried chicken simple, whether savory or crispy.
So, should you try KFC’s new chililime chicken? It’s up to you, really. But it’s not something that I’m looking forward to ordering the next time I go there.
