A lot of bloggers have been raving about this yogurt store, The White Hat Italian Frozen Yogurt, on plurk and on their blogs so, when Eric Chao invited me to try their yogurt product, I dropped by the store, located at the second floor of SM Mall of Asia, right across Nike store.

It’s a nice, quaint place in the shopping mall with white chairs and small round tables placed outside. He’s very accommodating and since it’s my first time to be visiting the store, he introduced me to the different toppings that I could put on my yogurt.

Wow! I like nuts and I like granola! This is starting to look good…

These are great for the kids!

Now these remind me of cereals!

Glorious! If only I could put all of that into my yogurt cup…
Such a great and tasty sight can really make choosing a difficult task. After a while, I settled on a combination of homemade cheesecake, streudel (I’m not so sure of the name), and peaches as toppings for my frozen yogurt.

Now I know why the store is called The White Hat…it’s the shape of the yogurt on the cup!
That’s homemade cheesecake, streudel, and peaches! Yum, yum! I’ve also tried the ube and green tea jelly (however, I seemed to have deleted the photo in my cam huhu) and they’re pretty good too, though I’m more inclined to pick peaches and cheesecake as my favorite.
I have always been a yogurt fan (though not as much as ice cream, of course). What I usually do is buy plain yogurt from the grocery and then, when I’m about to eat one, I put fruits in it, like bananas, apples, peaches, or if I could get my hands on it, strawberries. And it’s definitely a tasty, healthy snack, something that one won’t feel too guilty eating (but then, of course, who listens to nutrition conscience that often anyway?). So, when I’ve decided to try this frozen yogurt, I wanted to know why it should be any different from the yogurt I buy from stores.
I think what people will like about this yogurt is that, aside from the nice toppings you could put in it, it’s the actual taste of the plain yogurt. Most people are turned off by the sour taste of yogurt, which perhaps is due to the kind of milk used in the process. But with White Hat’s yogurt, there’s a balanced mix of sourness and tender sweetness. No, it will not make you think you’re eating ice cream. It is still yogurt, but tastier. And, as Eric said, the tastier yogurt is due to the authentic and fresh ingredients that they use. I learned that the counter where they place the toppings is actually a cooler itself, so to keep the fruits very fresh. Also, yogurts are made in batches, depending on the frequency of orders, to ensure that yogurts made will be consumed within the time frame that it is still at its freshest.
Definitely I’ll have to go back to this store (or to its other branches which will soon open. If I’m not mistaken, the next one will open at Robinson’s Manila) and try the other toppings with the yogurt. Also, I wasn’t able to take a photo of myself wearing the yogurt cup as White Hat. Haha.

Do you know any other good places to eat frozen yogurt?
